THE BUNKHOUSE BAR & GRILL

A few more photos of our Bunkhouse Bar & Grill evening.
We arrived in Denver on Friday evening, June 16th, 2017.  Saturday, June 17th, was a travel day (163 kms), with visits.  We'll share some photos of that day later.  But because Chantal chose to give you information about this first musical evening in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with country dancing and Western food, here are a few more photos of that typically American evening.

Thanks Philippe for your three photos which I have put here on the blog with mine.
My best,
Jane

COUNTRY DANCING

COUNTRY DANCING was a part of our Wyoming experience too.  What a pleasant evening we had together at the Bunkhouse Bar & Grill.

Chantal writes:

The real Wyoming;

Near Cheyenne, we had an amazing evening in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.  Local people go there to eat American food and dance to live country music.  All of us appreciated the very nice atmosphere.
One "poor lonesome cowboy" even came on horseback and he told us that it sometimes took a longtime to get home depending on the number of beers drunk!

I'll return to the blog tomorrow with some more photos from this special evening.   But first, I'll share with you a video I should have found before our trip.  We would have been better dancers!  Click for subtitles.

My best,
Jane

SHARING OUR TRIP

SHARING OUR TRIP

Here it is already the middle of September, time to start thinking about the Uiad "rentrée", back-to-school!

This blog was started on April 16th, 2017 and continued every day until the day we left for Wyoming on June 16th, 2017.

Three months have passed since then.  Summer.
It's September 16th, 2017 and, as promised, the blog is now coming back to life so that the students who took this fabulous trip can share with everyone some of their photos along with a short write-up in English.  With no particular chronological order, students will choose what they would like to present.  It will be difficult for them to make a choice.  Every day was special, unique, marvellous.

Elisabeth will be the first to contribute:

How difficult it is to select a theme !!!!;-

Looking back at all the good times I experienced during this trip, one of the most stunning was the encounter with the bison.  At the Cheyenne River Buffalo Ranch, we met Dan O'Brien and his family.  We wandered the Great Plains through his herd of buffalo.  It was amazing, wonderful.....

In addition to Dan's herd, in Custer or in West Yellowstone there were great coloured bison which were so impressive.

Finally, in the Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Wyoming, I was impressed by this painting by Robert Batsman (1997) named "Chief".  It seems so real that I thought it was a photograph !
